Rila Monastery and Stobski Piramidi

What a day it was! I was fortunate enough to be part of the Erasmus project "Young Community Organisers," assisting BYF with participants from Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. We set off on an adventure to visit two of Bulgaria's most incredible landmarks - Rila Monastery and Stobski Piramidi.

As we drove through the stunning mountainous terrain of Bulgaria, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation building up inside me. I couldn't wait to explore these iconic landmarks with my new friends!

Our first stop was Rila Monastery, and I was immediately struck by its grandeur and beauty. From the towering walls to the intricate frescoes, every inch of the monastery complex was filled with history and significance. I was grateful for the opportunity to learn more about St. Ivan Rilski, the Bulgarian hermit who founded the monastery in the 10th century. The woodcarvings, icons, and murals that adorned the walls were simply breathtaking.

After exploring the monastery, we headed to Stobski Piramidi, a natural wonder with pyramid-shaped rock formations. As we hiked to the top, I felt a sense of exhilaration building up inside me. The views of the surrounding countryside were simply stunning, and I felt privileged to experience such natural beauty with my new friends.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered together to reflect on our experiences. We talked about how the Erasmus project had brought us all together, and how we had learned so much about each other's cultures and histories. We exchanged contact information, promising to stay in touch and continue our newfound friendships.

Overall, it was an unforgettable day filled with adventure, discovery, and fun. I was grateful for the opportunities that the Young Community Organisers project had provided me, and I will always cherish the memories that I made on this incredible journey.
